Council website errors, failures and other ways to loose money
Once more the website of our council is an error message hotbed.
http://thanet.gov.uk/
"Content-type: text/html 'D:\home\thanet\cgi-bin\buildpage.pl' script produced no output"
appears in to places.
Congratulations! Now everyone knows that your server is Windows based and you are using PERL - very secure. (not)
However when you follow one of the main menu links (I followed "Your Council" [lie though it is]). The resultant page says:
"Sorry, the page you requested could not be found.
Thanet District Council have recently launched our new website, and you may have followed an old link.
You will shortly be re-directed to the front page, where you can use the search function, or the left-hand menu to find what you were looking for.
Please notify us at web.editor@thanet.gov.uk so we can ask the referring page author to update their links.
HTTP: 404 - Page not found."
Aside from running on an expensive operating system (when arguably better ones are available free) but they don't even test the new changes before they go live.
As if that were not enough almost none of the elected oficials have yet to do anything of value with the special councillers "home page" that each one has.
Apaprently the councillers have better things to do with thier time than be insulted by a day of training for what should be a system so simple my mum could use it.
TDC is a disgrace to IT.
