In probably slipped past most people that a number of users have had their stauts enhanced to help run the site and I was one of those members.

My first official act has been to reduce the update of google news to once every four weeks and remove it from general news.

So like the new Top Stories section it is down to those who can to select items from other feeds to populate these sections.

These reason for my drastic action is that there are now over 4000 items from google with an average of four pages of identical content as news providers have taken to gaming Google news by providing the current time and date for news stories every time they are polled for information.

If any one disagrees with my actions I will be happy to debate with you and even change the settings again.
