The first question to ask

Now that the site is set up the first logic question to ask is this: where would the users like to take things next?

Already some of us are talking of maintaining a better information and contact section than the councils own website organised under a number of categories and so forth.

Forum wise the wisest thing to do would be to create new forums and topic areas for popular subjects (such as the airport or the local police).

However there is massive scope for creating a truely great Thanet Portal. The only limit is our imaginations.

watchdog group?

I think a contact section is a good idea however it would be good to detail what time they actually man that line and what you chances of any actual action are.

I'd like to see a section with details of the elected councillors and what they have been doing (or not doing).

I also would not mind a general section to file complaints against the council - perhaps we could form a watchdog group that can bring these complaints to the council again and again until they act. We could log our actions and theirs something like a trouble ticket system.

Quality Check

Sort of like a quality check group?

It'd b good if we list all the contact no's and addresses etc etc and then allow people to say what their expirence has been with them.

It would good if we could tie that up to advice on which lines are best for what and what sort of approach is needed to get anything done.
